Who is this course for?

01

Leaders who are looking to drive better outcomes by creating more

ownership and empowerment. Some of your direct reports seem disengaged.

02

Managers who are trying to motivate their teams during challenging times. You're tired of babysitting.

03

Founders who feel awkward with

the "people part" of leadership. You don't understand why they don't just do the work.

What you'll get from this course

A deep dive into each team member's unique talents, values, and abilities, with immediately actionable steps to engage them.

Every employee is unique and requires something different from their manager to perform at their best. The best leaders know what that “something” is for each team member. We will help you identify and plan for each individual’s needs so that you can shed that nagging feeling.

A proven framework and implementation tools so you can relax and trust that your people are "all in" and doing the right things.

Get out from under the fear. Understand the contributing factors in a trusting relationship, identify your gaps with each individual, and create a ready-to-go plan to bridge those gaps.

A statistically valid report assessing your mastery of emotional intelligence.

Using the Genos 180 or self-assessment, you can assess your skill in recognizing and managing your emotions and those of the people you lead. You will uncover the blind spots that are limiting you as a manager.

A clear path to garner the trust of your team.

Does your team trust you? Using our framework, you will gain insight into your current performance on the factors that make you trustworthy as a leader. Create a plan to become the leader that people are loyal to and do not want to let down.

A plan for cultivating a culture of deep caring with your team, while keeping it real.

Trust is mission-critical but isn't doesn’t guarantee sustained performance over time. You need to use words and deeds to recognize each employee in a super meaningful way. They'll feel lifted and cared for, which becomes infectious and generates higher productivity and more fun!

1:1 Coaching Session

Despite the best intentions, retaining and implementing everything you learn in a class is difficult. To help you get the most from this course, we include three 1:1 coaching sessions during the duration of the course to help you cement your learnings and overcome any hurdles.

Kristen Schmitt, PCC

I am exceptionally passionate about coaching leaders to be the best they can possibly be. Prior to becoming an executive coach, I spent 20 years in mid-level and senior leadership with Pearson. From the beginning, I studied my peers closely, and took the best from the best. I also learned some things the hard way. Over time, I built multiple top-performing teams, amassed numerous awards, and never lost a high-performing direct report. In 2017, I founded Thrive to Lead, an executive coaching firm. Here, I have done my most impactful work—helping leaders build powerful teams by leading with support, accountability, and joy. I want this for you. Let me show you how to be the best leader they’ll ever have! To learn more about me, check me out on linkedin or my website.

Course syllabus

01

Trust + Love = Performance Framework

Trust is a product of competency, integrity, authenticity, and connecting on a high purpose. A team with high marks on those ingredients might win some of the time. But they won't consistently win, unless they also care for each other. No love, no consistent high performance--reps jump ship, morale wanes, disfunction creeps in.

02

An Accountability Atlas for Positive Leadership

Learn a simple accountability practice and map out how to level set expectations with each team member, providing support and clarity. Make accountability a key strength of your team culture.

03

Authenticity and Having Fun with Your Team

We don't engage a monolithic team, we engage individuals. Build out specific next steps you will take to build rapport with each team member. Authenticity starts with you. And so does having fun. We'll share best practices and guide you in designing a method that works for your leadership style.

04

Effectively Communicating Purpose

Great leaders understand the importance of communicating a vision and a purpose. Learn and practice how to talk about your company's purpose in a way that resonates for you and your team, and how to explain how your team's purpose, and how each member of your team is critical to fulfilling it.

05

Elevating Your Emotional Intelligence

In order to cultivate an environment of trust and love on your team, you'll need a fair amount of emotional intelligence. Interpret you assessment results and identify the greatest opportunities to grow as a leader.

06

Lift and Love

Engagement is tightly correlated with recognition. This may be the easiest way to motivate your team: recognize, acknowledge, appreciate. We build a plan to lift each team member. But words aren't enough. We also must show and cultivate love to unleash your team's true potential.
