Cohort-based Course

For the future video producer that wants to learn the BARE MINIMUM one needs to know to edit their own videos—using Capcut & Canva.

Course overview

Strut into a video editing suite with confidence & crank out MP4 masterpieces

"Nope" is not just a movie.

It's the sound you make whenever you open up Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut - and then immediately close your laptop & decide that washing dishes or mowing the lawn in 94 degree weather and 63% humidity would be more bearable.

The Editing Room shimmies past those video editing platforms & teaches you the BARE MINIMUM you need to know—on a less intimidating video editing platform (ahem! Capcut & Canva)—so you can get in & out of these video editing platforms Hussein Bolt fast!

Purchase your gamers chair. Drink a protein shake. Get comfortable. You're about to level up your 2024. This is for...

01

Those that don't want to learn EVERY DETAIL of an editing suite—at first! Learning the basics in under an hour sounds like good time mgmt😉

02

Those that have opened up editing suites & thought you were looking at NASA's space launch control room 😵‍💫 Approachable platforms EXIST!

03

Those that are looking to build online EMPIRES! From YouTube to your own online video course 😏💰 Your only limitation is your imagination.

What to Expect | The Teasers

Getting "Surface-Level" Familiar with Your Weapons of Choice

You don't need to do a nose dive into EVERYTHING Capcut & Canva has to offer while you're learning the foundations of video editing. Just the basics for an entertaining talking head video. And that's what we'll cover, snickerdoodle!

Observation, Creation, & Participation—Oh My!

This isn't a cohort where you're going to watch some videos & then go along your way! BWAHAHAHAHA! Oh no...

You WILL be creating video shorts DURING your time in this cohort—if not your first long-form video.

The Number #1 Thing A Creative Craves

Have you ever showed your work to someone & their reaction was, "That's nice" or "Looks good. It's fine"—and wished for better feedback? Prepare to have honest & strategic feedback delivered to you in spades.

What People Are Saying

Gigi had me hooked in less than a minute (so clearly she knows what she's talking about!) and I thoroughly enjoyed the class. It's actually got me excited to film talking heads for upcoming classes (which is saying A LOT!)

I've been marinating in the marketing arena for a little over 10 years, where I got my stripes in - content marketing, scriptwriting, creative directing, and of course, video production & editing.

So, you're pretty much getting a two-fer! My video editing skillz (yeah, with a "z") & my marketing brain power.

The Course Schedule

4-8 hours for 1-week

  • Monday

    8pm EST

This is going to be a short meetup—because, if you haven't already, you're going to have to watch some videos walking you through the toolsets you're going to need for the rest of this course.

  • Office Hours Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays

    8:00 - 9:00pm EST

Attendance these days is optional — HOWEVER there will be assignments you will be turning in on each day.

This is also a time you can send your questions to Gigi—or meet e-face to e-face.

  • Friday (The Final Day)

    8:00pm - 9:00pm EST

For anyone that wants to participate, this will be a day of "show & tell" of ONE of your video shorts you created during the cohort—to your colleagues.
