Course overview

Harness the Emotional Power of Chords & Harmony in Your Music

Harmony imbues music with feeling and emotion. In this one month intensive led by educator & prominent music blogger Ethan Hein, we'll be unwrapping the core elements of chords and harmony — from the functional to the fantastic — and how to use them in modern music.

Imagine your dream graduate seminar, with weekly challenges, engaged peers, and hands-on instruction from a highly accomplished instructor. We'll nerd out on harmonies and chord changes that can take your breathe away, and practice putting those lessons into action.

What people are saying

The folks at Soundfly always do a great job of combining high quality educational resources with a supportive environment. The writing lab helped me gain a solid grasp of several production concepts that initially felt too abstract. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to deepen their practice.

Past Writing Lab student
I thought the course was really well designed and helped me get a grip on concepts I'd heard before but had not really gotten my head around... My goal was to introduce more complex harmony and dissonance into my music so have been really pleased with the results.

I came for one course and stayed to take many others not only because of the quality of the courses but also because of the Soundfly community. It can be scary and daunting as an artist to know if you have made progress in your craft, and this community has become central to my practice.
