Course overview
Driven teens are often fooled into thinking that As and Bs equal success. You know better: straight As are just a glass ceiling.
The teenage years are crucial to explore different fields, values and people, so that your teens can invent themselves.
School covers very few subjects, does not focus on ethics and morals, exposes teens to a tiny selection of people, does not promote project based learning, does not encourage self awareness and vision apart from the narrow boundaries of the curriculum..
Most of all, school does not prepare your teen for the shift to adulthood. Even the top achievers will be completely unprepared for a future where they have to think creatively without being told what to do, earn and manage money, be socially active in the community, choose the problems they want to solve in the world.
They have to move from the school world of certainties and being given tasks to the real world of uncertainties and having complete choice. It's daunting.
You have to facilitate all that, or their growth will be stunted: they will start asking questions after they finish University, which is too late, and they might get crucial parts of the puzzle when they are in they forties or even their fifties.
I will help you with the prompts and frameworks you need to give your driven teen or promote in the background.
01
Parents who appreciate the industrial model of school was never meant to create resourceful, principled, confident, problem-solving adults.
02
Driven parents of driven teens who want a 360 degrees map of crucial topics they want their kids to explore before they leave the nest.
03
Grandparents, mentors, teachers, psychologists who want to grow their skills in supporting young people.
Offer your teen a world of opportunities
Once you and your teen accept that school is just the foundation and not the be all and end all of education, you will be approaching the world as a playground. What opportunities do they want to take, now, to have a taste of what they want to do in the future?
Clarify the architecture of their life
What are the building blocks teens need to attend to? What questions do they need to ask themselves? From values to money, from fears to problem solving.
Shift their outlook
Open up your teen's narrow and self-focused vision to see others and their problems. Each problem is a potential source of work, creative thinking, money and satisfaction.
Give your teen frameworks and a method
Don't let them coast through school, sports and music, or they are going to regret it. Stretch them: it will make them happy.
Be clear on the neuroscience of adolescence and how it can help you
The teenage brain is undergoing fascinating changes. Work with it rather than against it.
Feel good about yourself
You are doing everything possible to make their life great. You are becoming the best parent you can be. Pick and choose from the new ideas MC's will present you and incorporate them in your family life. Your values and mission are being met.

WHY ME?
My uncle was a highly capable and driven learner. He committed suicide at age 17. That's why I care and why I have made it my mission to support teens in their transition to adulthood.
I have 4 kids of my own, all with distinct strengths and interests, so I understand your struggles.
I combine sales and training skills learnt in the City of London working for Bloomberg and Salomon Brothers with Neuroscience/Mental Health knowledge from my MSc from King's College. On top of that you get my diplomatic background from my MA and from being Honorary Consul to Papua New Guinea. You benefit from my personal development background, and ASIST and Mental Health First Aid qualifications.
As a mentor, I have helped many parents with the content of this course. I also mentor teens, help them apply to US universities and prepare for job interviews.
Seeing families thrive gives me energy and life satisfaction.
My mission is to support every teen, young adult and their parents with personalised career advice, personal development and application/interview coaching.
You will benefit from my enthusiasm and expertise alike.

The Teen Manifesto
What do your teens need to master before they become adults?
Most of them think that their "job" is to study and get good grades at school.
Actually, the tasks during the teen years are very different and if you have a clear map, their transition to adulthood is going to be much smoother and more successful.
