Hi! I’m Rico Nasol, an executive and career coach helping creatives design their best careers!

After 20 years in top-tier companies like Netflix (9 yrs), Outschool (2 yrs) and Zappos (7 yrs), and many of those at the executive level, I’ve experienced rapid changes in the creative industry. It’s exhilarating to constantly be challenging myself and my teams to learn new product and marketing skills, often completely changing the landscape in an incredibly short amount of time.

But another amazing experience in my positions with these companies was my role as an executive hiring decision maker. This landed me in a seat where I was able to meet a high number of people with diverse creative backgrounds. It was awesome! I listened intently, knowing their experience was unlike anyone else’s and it was always interesting and educational.

At this point in my career, I’m slowing things down a bit. And the reason is simply that at this stage, I really like working with people like you, those with the talent to inspire, innovate and create lasting change in this fantastic industry! It’s taking my love of my design and creativity and boosting it to a higher level.

Now, instead of just meeting people for an hour or so in an interview, I get to work with them for days and even months, learning their history, craft and ideas, then taking those elements and helping them design a personalized career journey. It’s the ultimate satisfaction for me.

And, you know, even though technology and marketing strategies change in the blink of an eye, the basics of positioning oneself for career growth don’t. They stay the same. We’re still using resumes and portfolios in personal branding and although their design has changed drastically in the last 20 years, they’re purpose hasn’t. Nor has their level of importance for making a great first impression.
