The Razor School orientation session is designed to give students an overview of the course, including its objectives, structure, and expectations. During the orientation, students will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the course, such as how to best prepare for the upcoming weeks, what resources will be available, and how to connect with other students. The orientation session is an essential opportunity for students to get to know the instructors and their peers and to gain a clear understanding of what they can expect from the Razor School experience.

Module 1, participants will delve into the principles and core elements of the Razor Framework derived from Adaptive Leadership and Nooplitik, gaining a deep understanding of its significance in driving community development. Through the exploration of community development, systems thinking, and social capital, participants will grasp the theoretical underpinnings of the framework.

Module 2 dives deeper into the tools of the Razor Framework, focusing specifically on Asset Mapping. Students will learn how to conduct these analyses to understand better the internal and external factors that impact community development.

Module 3 focuses on learning the Social Impact Forces influenced by Porter’s Five Forces model. Dive into each force of the adapted framework and discover how to analyze the threat of new entrants, evaluate the bargaining power of resource providers, and assess the influence of beneficiaries and stakeholders. Gain practical skills in applying the framework to measure social impact effectively.
