Author of Wonder Tools, Director of the Entrepreneurial Journalism Creators Program at CUNY's Newmark Graduate School of Journalism
Jeremy Caplan is Director of Teaching and Learning at CUNY's Newmark Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. He also leads the school's Entrepreneurial Journalism Creators Program, a 100-day online program for independent journalists building new ventures—sites, newsletters, podcasts— around the world. He uses AI on a daily basis for everything from organizing brainstormed ideas to transcribing and summarizing meetings. Over the past 10 years he has supported hundreds of journalists around the world developing their own niche journalism ventures. A former Time Magazine reporter, he writes Wonder Tools, a weekly newsletter spotlighting the most useful tools for creative productivity to help people make the most of their time. After studying public policy at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, Jeremy earned an MS in Journalism as a Knight-Bagehot Fellow at Columbia University and an MBA at Columbia Business School as a Wiegers Fellow. He lives in New York City with his wife, two young daughters and their collection of musical instruments, chocolates, and board games.

Nikita Roy is a data scientist, journalist and media entrepreneur. She hosts the globally acclaimed Newsroom Robots podcast, which charts among the top technology podcasts across 25 countries. She has taught AI literacy workshops at the University of Toronto, the City University of New York's Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism and the International Center for Journalists. Her digital news startup, The NRI Nation, has been incubated at Harvard Innovation Labs, is a two-time semifinalist at the Harvard President's Innovation Challenge, and has received the Harvard Innovation Lab's Spark Grant. Nikita has been a part of the International Center for Journalists' News Innovation Lab and the Google News Initiative Startups Lab. An alumna of the University of Toronto and Harvard University, Nikita is dedicated to promoting the responsible and innovative use of AI in media.
