Dr. Melanie Obitz-Bukartek is an award-winning teacher who helps people of all ages use writing as a tool for life. (Don't worry, she won't push you to compose poetry as your networking strategy if it isn't your thing. Although, she did once craft an apology rhyme for missing a meeting, and it was a lyrical success.)

Before embracing her entrepreneurial spirit, Melanie lived a life of academic adventure. She was a college professor, district-wide literacy coordinator, school-wide literacy coach, and classroom teacher. She has an educational treasure trove that includes degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, plus a Ph.D. minor in Creative Writing.

She lives in Delaware, just a crab's scuttle from the ocean, with her husband, son, and two beachcombing dogs. Melanie is an avid tennis player and is happily learning how to transfer those skills to the pickleball court.
