Course overview

Making Online Content Accessible for All

This course provides instruction and strategies to support you in developing an online course that is inclusive to adults with a wide range of abilities, including adults with disabilities.

Helpful demos and hands-on activities will give you a clearer idea of how you can make your digital content more accessible

Learning Objectives:

1. Apply the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 standards to design and evaluate digital content for accessibility.

2. Identify digital tools and resources to remediate accessibility issues in digital content, aligning with standards and best practices.

3. Create a product that demonstrates proficiency in using the most common accessibility tools to ensure inclusive design practices.

Use digital tools, such as, ChatGPT Accessibility Ally, the Wave Tool, ARC Toolkit, Grackle for Google Docs, Forms, and Slides, to remediate accessibility issues in digital content.

By proactively incorporating accessibility principles into the development of online courses from the start, we not only comply with standards but also create a more inclusive learning environment, preventing the need for later adjustments and ensuring all can actively participate from day one.
