Course overview
This course is designed as a sprint model to kickstart your mental training. We will cover a breadth of information about inside-out self-regulation practices to build your psychological fitness. These evidence-based interventions will help you manage stress, enhance well-being and cultivate resilience, so you can thrive and flourish. There will be rapid teaching and learning of concepts, practice and application, and peer follow up with the group post-course to instill learning and reinforce practice.

I have dedicated my career as a Licensed Psychologist to elevating the potential of people and organizations. The principles in this sprint course are highlighted from my book Building Psychological Fitness: How High Performers Achieve with Ease. I study, curate, and vet science backed ways to enhance mental health and promote flourishing, so you don’t have to.

Laying the Groundwork on Mental Health
We will review a mental health continuum model, the stress response cycle, stress regulation, and how to improve your relationship with stress.

Upgrading Your Mental Models
We will address metacognition top-down strategies to build your psychological fitness. Techniques include how to apply cognitive re-reframing techniques by challenging our assumptions and putting our thoughts on trial, and learned optimism.

Blended Self-Regulation Practices
We will learn about bottom up psychological fitness practices to cultivate calm. We will also explore blended techniques including attention and energy management.

We will establish foundational components of mental health and flourishing and the stress response system.
10:00 am-1:00 pm CST
More exploration of strategies to build your psychological fitness: metacognition, attention, energy management, and cultivating calm.
10:00-11:00am CST
Follow up session with the cohort for time to apply, reflect, practice, and check in. We are most likely to change...with follow up...and with social commitment. We will crowdsource this motivational dimension of human behavior to accelerate and facilitate your progress.
