Course overview
Through exploring what other brands are doing in virtual reallity and experimenting with no-code tools, you will find confidence for creating your own metaverse prescence.

You will get an overview of how Virtual Reality works
In the first session we will clear up some basic myths about the metaverse and learn the psychology behind avatars.
You will learn a framework for evaluating case studies and use it to design your own
You can't just learn about the Metaverse, you have to experience it
In the second session we will visit immersive marketing experiences in Spatial.io: the Motrorade Metaride by BMW, and the Hugo Boss Immersive Showroom.You will look at other case studies including Wendy's and Starburst Candies, and critique them using our 6 part framework.
Our classroom will be inside a metaverse
We will be meeting in Framevr.io, an incredibly versatile metaverse platform which runs right from a web browser on a desktop. Framevr is designed for social interaction and education and is easily customized.
By the end of the course you will have your own branded space
You will continue to have access to the space you customized once the course has ended so you can invite your colleagues and community to experience the potential of the metaverse.

Hi, I'm Judy.
I first got involved with VR during COVID when we all needed to pivot from in-person to virtual events and college teaching. I have since used VR for training, collaborating and events. I am fascinated by the metaverse and believe that it is the answer to advertising overload! The same way every brand needs a website today, soon everyone will need their own world, I invite you to join me in exploring this new reality.

The course will meet on Tuesday and Thursday, then have an optional Q&A and office hours on Friday with the final session the following Tuesday.

The opening session will begin on Zoom to allow participants to interact in 2-D as ourselves while learning the tools to create avatars and accounts and continue the course inside a metaverse world.

5:00-6:30 pm EDT
In the second session we will meet in our branded classroom in a metaverse world and take field trips to other worlds to see case studies of existing immersive marketing experiences.

12:00-1:30 pm EDT
During this time will be an optional Q&A session and opportunities to schedule one-on-one office hour appointments for help with the Capstone Project as needed.

5:00-6:30 pm EDT
Capstone Project
The last class session will be used to summarize what we have learned and to showcase and critque the capstone projects created by each student of a branded space in the metaverse.
