Who this course was built for

01

You're a creator looking to own your audience.

02

You're a founder looking to grow your brand.

03

You're a solopreneur looking to diversify your revenue streams.

Key Outcomes

Build a content flywheel

Build a content engine that compounds and lets you produce, without burnout. Should you write long-form? Is curated content more your speed? What are Nathan and Jack's creative processes? We will talk about all of this and more.

Grow your audience

So your content is fantastic. How do we get it in front of hundreds of thousands of eyeballs? Organic growth? Cross-promotions? Paid promos? Don't worry, we cover it all.

Start making money

This is kind of the point, right? Believe it or not, there is more than one way to monetize your content. From ads, to subscriptions, to selling your own products, to leveraging your content to find employment, we break it all down.

Learn two years of our best practices

We have messed up a lot of things over the last two years, and we want you to avoid those mistakes.

What is the perfect welcome email? How should my landing page be set up? When should I publish?

Don't worry, we've got you.

Join a network of like-minded creators

Writing is a lonely pursuit, and we would have stopped a long time ago without our support groups. Besides the X's and O's of writing, we want to connect you with other likeminded creators looking to elevate their game.

Jack has become one of my favorite online writers, and I look forward to reading his newsletter every week. Beyond creating great content, he has done an excellent job of promoting and sharing his newsletter across social media to grow his audience. If you want the blueprint for successfully scaling a newsletter, Jack should be your go-to resource.

CEO, Morning Brew
There are so few people who have grown a newsletter from zero to 50,000+ subscribers. And even fewer are willing to share their knowledge on how to do it. Nathan is one of those incredibly rare talents who's willing to share his knowledge and has the receipts to back it up. Take his course.

If you're looking to create, grow, and monetize a newsletter, I can't think of a better place to start. Learn directly from someone who has been there and done it themselves. Nathan helped to conceptualize my newsletter, determine the best platform for hosting, and has been an endless source of knowledge.

Jack has been helping me with Exec Sum since last fall. Over the past year, he has edited Exec Sum daily, written long-form pieces (organic and sponsored), and created engaging ad copy for our advertising partners. He has a deep understanding of both the creation and monetization aspects of the newsletter business.

CEO, Litquidity Capital; Scout, Bain Capital
Jack is my go-to person for newsletter strategy. What he's figured out with newsletters is nothing short of genius. Anyone can write. But Jack has figured out how to make money and write. I use Jack's strategies with my own newsletter that now has 101K subscribers. Learn from the best and ditch the rest. Jack is the teacher you've been looking for.
Tim Denning

Jack understands something that most content creators don't: It doesn't matter how large your audience is if they're not engaged and don't trust you. The tricky part, of course, is that there is no shortcut to building an audience of any size that respects, trusts, and cares about what you have to say, which is why most usually resort to gimmicks.

Course Breakdown:

01

Day 1: Goals, Tech Stack, and Business Models

You have to know what you want to build before we can help you scale it. Day one covers your goals, our preferred tech stacks (and why we have those preferences), and the four primary newsletter business models.

By the end of Day 1, you understand the blueprint behind successful newsletters.

02

Day 2: Figuring Out Your Content

We will discuss the differences between curated and created content, and why you might choose each one. We'll also break down which content structures work with which monetization structures, design the perfect welcome email, figure out your optimal publishing cadence, and provide a framework for idea generation.

03

Day 3: Growth

We get more in the weeds on Day 3. Here, we'll cover social media growth, collaborating with other creators, referral programs, recommendations, building your "brand," major do not's of social media, and other growth tips.

This is the most important day of the course.

04

Day 4: Cash Flow

We introduced the four monetization methods earlier in the course. Now, we'll show you how to actually monetize your work.

We give an in-depth breakdown of paid subscriptions, sponsorships, upselling your own product, and leveraging your content for employment opportunities.

05

Day 5: Dark Arts and Q&A

Today, we'll spend the first half of the class breaking down our most specific actionable tips that we wish we had known when we were getting started, and we'll close out the class with a 30 minute Q&A to answer any questions specific to your newsletters.

By the end of the course, you will be an expert in all things newsletter.
