Cohort-based Course

Make your ending matter. Leave with grace. Take a sabbatical, or plan anything else. Let's prepare to reinvent your life and career.

Course overview

How good of a quitter are you?

That's probably a question you've never been asked before.

Because there's no award for quitting things in this world. Quitting may as well be a synonym for Failing.

But what if it's actually the biggest win of your life?

We're taught to value grit and resilience and to fight in the face of adversity. We're told that it's more honorable to hold on than to let go.

And, to what end?

We're told not to leave good things, to just be grateful for what we've got. We're worried about being so selfish or irresponsible to consider something else for our lives, like:

taking a break from routine, going on retreat, making art, pursuing a project, seeing the world, spending time with family, exploring creativity, healing.

How radical.

*

In a world of quiet quitting, the real flex is to know how you can quit WELL — how to move on gracefully, and with dignity, and with conviction.

Because the other option? Well, you may already be familiar with it:

● silently resigning yourself to giving up on your whispers instead of giving in to them

● feeling full of potential, but filled with resentment

● leaving your creativity on the table

● exhausting yourself in the name of "working hard and being successful"

● staying put where you are because of "a great team of people you don't want to walk away from"

● still wondering to yourself "is this really all there is?"

...What would it be like to intentionally move forward to a kind of life where your heart feels full and your spirit comes alive?

A life where you:

✔︎ feel in integrity with yourself, your heart, and the intended next direction for your career

✔︎ feel more energized, connected, and inspired by your life

✔︎ gracefully close out this chapter of your work

✔︎ lower your stress levels, and increase your ability to recover from burnout

✔︎ give yourself the opportunity to pursue other interests, creative pursuits, and life activities that enhance your well-being

✔︎ connect to yourself with true self-care and self-love

✔︎ stop compartmentalizing and negotiating who you are and start bringing your whole, authentic self to achieving your dreams and desires

✔︎ have more clarity and trust about life’s unknowns

✔︎ may find yourself quitting your job and following your dreams

If you look closely enough, your dissatisfactions can be the very inspirations you are looking for.

How to Quit mentorship is ideal for those who are yearning to create some space and time off to pause, reset, and redirect their life and career focus in the next 4 to 12 months.

It's time to ask ourselves:

What else is possible? And what would it take to create it?

Welcome to the quitting club.

Note: This isn't an official career change program. While it'll help prepare you to quit your current role, there's no job-search-strategy work here.

This mentorship is for...

01

THE GO GETTER

"No matter how much I plan my time, I need more hours in the day. I’m exhausted. What would a break feel like? I want one."

02

THE DARING LEADER

“I’ve worked hard & I’m where I thought I wanted to be, but I'm ready for new directions now. Time to rest and redirect."

03

THE SOUL SEARCHER

“Life’s great, but something feels missing. My life is changing and I'm not sure where it’s going."

04

THE HIDING ARTIST

“I have this idea that keeps calling to me. It’s exciting but overwhelming, and I know I need to explore it."

By the end of this mentorship, you'll get to...

Upgrade your career mindset and prime your brain to get on board with your desires.

Identify the outdated career ideas that restrict you from making honest change. Activate your curiosity, courage, and creativity to create a new life & career vision and bring it to life.

Rewrite the common fears & beliefs around money, time, and status that prevent you from creating greater possibilities for your career.

Overcome them through data-gathering and planning tools that provide you an honest, doable direction forward without compromising on your values and priorities.

Prepare to communicate your exit to the people that matter.

Plan for what to expect, say, and do in the process of informing others (colleagues, family, boss, etc) of your decision. Second-guessing and self-doubt is normal and it's easy to be influenced by other people's fears. Learn how to stay in integrity throughout the transition.

Design your offboarding plan with generative, supportive, and intentional practices and strategy.

Brainstorm how to optimize for leaving everything and everyone better than how you found them. Wherever you can, go with grace.

Gather live with a small group of peers with shared hunches for a new way of being.

Find evidence in each other that will inspire you to commit to taking the intentional time you desire to recreate your life and career.

What we'll do together

01

Get Curious

You'll gain insight and connect the dots about your career and life storyline so far, and begin to identify and claim what you want/need your next chapter to be about.

Whether it's for personal discovery, rest, travel, building out a creative project or business idea, something else, or a bit of all of it -- we'll uncover what you're really after.

02

Activate Courage

You'll identify and rewrite the fears and beliefs holding you back from your greatest desires. You'll practice some tools to release the guilt and give yourself permission to make this change in a way that is best for you.

03

Create Solutions

You'll get practical here and challenge any concerns about time, money, purpose, and status. You'll calculate your numbers, determine a timeline, and claim a purpose for quitting that is true, inspiring, and supportive to YOU. Do the groundwork and learn how to realistically give your attention to a neglected dream or creative yearning.

04

Befriend Boundaries

You'll set yourself up for success during this transition time by identifying what to say no to, what parts of life and work you can delegate, and how to let go of any lingering "shoulds" and "have-tos." You begin practicing your new choices right away.

05

Communicate With Conviction

You'll plan for what to expect, say, and do in the process of informing others (colleagues, family, boss, etc) of your decision. Whether your leave is a temporary sabbatical or a complete career redirection, you'll develop an offboarding plan designed to help you leave your role better than how you found it and stay connected to those who matter.

06

Date The Dream

Whether your quitting timeline is four weeks or four months or more, you'll learn how to stay connected to your larger dream and create rituals and practices to care for yourself as you pursue your reimagined life and career.

Em Bailey

Em Bailey

community program manager, turned birth doula
What I know for sure is that I’m happier, more at ease, more confident, and clearer on what is important to me (and what is NOT!) than I’ve been in a long time. And contrary to my nagging fear, I have all of this while being in better financial shape than ever before, and with a reawakened creative hunger I’ve been sorely missing.
Taylor Mee-Lee

Taylor Mee-Lee

sales recruiter, now living in and building a healing retreat center in Costa Rica
I was introduced to breakthroughs that resulted in me quitting my job with the intention of slowing down and prioritizing rest; exploring my creative interests in dancing, photography, music, and writing; and uncovering patterns that contributed to my lack of healthy boundaries professionally and personally.

growth marketer; now also, dancer + podcast host + content producer, etc, etc
I’ve set boundaries around my time at work and I'm saying no more often. I spoke with my family and colleagues about pursuing a new career path and, despite my fears, was met with nothing but support. I even enrolled in courses to begin my new journey. I have seen my confidence at work increase and I'm better able to communicate in personal life.
Katy Alambo

Working with Gloria helped me bridge the gap between leaving my full-time work and stepping into making my dreams real. I'm now building a business of my own, on my terms with my community. I now know with more clarity whom and what to say no to, because I was offered the space to practice saying yes to myself and my dreams, in detail, over again.
Francis Arevalo

Francis Arevalo

I had been sitting on my creative projects for almost half a year, but I launched 2 out of 3 within the first two months of working with Gloria. She helped me understand and honour my creative cycles, which gave me the permission to have the flexibility I require in my schedule and let go of the guilt.

Gloria Eid

Gloria Eid

I'm Gloria, and I've quit big roles, great teams, and life-affirming work over the course of my career.

In 2016, I quit my career track with no set plan, taking a 10-month career pause that ultimately propelled me into the creative life and work I have today.

I was inspired to uncover the answer to the question that gnawed at my high-achieving, success-oriented psyche: "Who am I without my work?"

Some parts of the process are painful. Most parts are truly liberating. The decision to quit was always in service of becoming more myself, accessing more of my creative potential, and listening to what life was wanting for me next.

But there's no prescribed career track for that. So I made it up.

I've created the kind of mentorship I wish I had when I was contemplating and preparing to quit my roles and pursue what was next.

Now, I help leaders of all kinds navigate the pains of growth and transitions, access their creative abilities, and become who they need to be to carry out their unique roles in life and career.

I write, dance, work, play, and live a life more and more true to my nature. And I want the same for you.
