Everyone is creative. Everyone can innovate. Everyone can learn how to solve problems in new ways. In this 1-week course you will learn how to use design-thinking to solve everyday challenges ranging from process improvements to developing new products and services.

Learn design-thinking fundamentals
Learn a universal five-step design thinking process and how to decipher variations to this process, such as design sprints. Adopt the mindset and behaviors for innovation and creativity, because process is useless if don't approach it and act in the right way.
Discover how to define and scope projects effectively
Projects don't fail due to a lack of good idea but rather due to poor upfront project definition. Learn how to avoid failure by deploying three tools that enable scoping projects in a way that are bounded but yet provide ample room for thinking big.
Become a detective
Unique insights lead to unique ideas. Discover how to look for insights (clues) through interviews, ethnography, field visits, research, and by observing everything in the world around us. The world is filled with insights ready to uncover.
Generate amazing ideas

Her 20+ years of experience span large-scale, Fortune 500 multi-million dollar projects to start-up clients.
She’s sat on both sides of the recruitment table, inspired executives to chart a new course, and worked tirelessly to make change stick. Now, she’s on a mission to make organizations better places to do work that matters.
Decio Mendes has a passion for making organizations hum and employees smile. For the past 25 years, he has worked with senior management teams across a broad range of industries to achieve breakthrough business, organization and individual performance. He is skilled in leading large business improvement, innovation and change management programs, having designed and executed some of the largest transformation programs conducted by three different global management consulting firms - Boston Consulting Group, Booz Allen Hamilton/Strategy& (now part of PWC) and WhatIf Innovation Partners (now part of Accenture).
Decio is an expert in design-thinking and human centered design and has trained thousands of people at companies like Google, Pfizer, Danone, Citigroup and more on how to be more innovate and creative on a daily basis. He is ready to show you how as well!

8 hours spread out over one week
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: Workshops
12:00pm - 2:00pm Eastern Time
Fun and highly interactive small-group workshops incorporating a mix of presentation and breakout working sessions to apply tools to a mock business case. Innovation and creativity aren't spectator sports, so everyone will get playing time and expert coaching!
Intersession work
1-2 hours during the week
Participants conduct a bit of work on their own in between workshops, specifically on items that cannot be done during the live sessions, e.g., going out into the real-world to complete some simple tasks to then bring back to the group!
Tuesday & Thursday: Office Hours
12:00pm & 5:00pm Eastern Time
Get all your questions answered or dive deeper into certain topics. Nothing is off limits! Office hours are optional but are great and, heck, you are paying for it so take advantage of them! Two 1-hour sessions will be offered on each of the days in between the live workshops.
Active hands-on learning
This course builds on live workshops and hands-on application using a mock case.
Interactive and project-based
You’ll be interacting with other learners through breakout rooms working on a mock case.
