Course overview

Learn a simple step-by-step process to design impactful workshops.

Are you ready to take a big step forward into the art of building powerful, intentional workshop agendas? Over three weeks, we’ll dive into the mechanics of designing agendas that don’t just look good on paper but deliver meaningful, actionable outcomes.

This course is perfect for designers, leaders and managers who want to move beyond cookie-cutter approaches and craft workshops that drive real change. Through interactive sessions, hands-on activities, and personal feedback, you’ll learn how to structure workshops that engage participants, keep the energy flowing, and, most importantly, ensure your workshops achieve the desired results.

Here’s what you can expect:

Week 1: Defining Your Intent and Workshop Flow

We’ll kick off with two interactive Zoom sessions. First, you’ll learn to define your intent—what you want your workshop to achieve and, more critically, what you want your participants to be able to do next. We’ll break down how to map that intent into critical questions and align them into a flow that takes you from start to finish.

In the second session, we’ll transform this flow into a concrete structure, using key building blocks such as activities, conversation and breaks. By the end of the week, you’ll have a workshop framework ready for review.

Week 2: Creating Your Agendas

Now, it’s time to turn that framework into a facilitator’s and participant’s agenda. We’ll discuss what makes each agenda type distinct, how to create them, and when to use them. You’ll have the chance to refine your agenda and receive personalized feedback to ensure it’s tailored to your goals and ready for action.

Week 3: One-on-One Delivery Coaching

In the final week, we’ll schedule one-on-one calls, during which I’ll review your workshop agenda and structure. We’ll discuss tips and strategies for confidently delivering your workshop, with personalized advice based on your specific workshop design. You’ll leave the course fully prepared to run your best workshop yet.

By the end of this course, you’ll have the skills, feedback, and confidence to build and deliver workshops that make an impact. Plus, you’ll have a fully-fledged agenda to put into action.

Hi, I'm John, and I'm a Strategist and Designer.

I love getting collaborations to work, and I've been in the position to run some cracking ones. From a huge summit for PlayStation down to the initial conversation between two founders on what they were setting out to create. Along the way, I've been involved in everything in between.

Working in agencies and as a freelancer has allowed me to dip in and out of hundreds of businesses and experiment with different ways of framing and enabling collaboration. It's what I love doing, and what I want to help you do better.
