Cohort-based Course

Design and pilot a community program based on proven tactics that drive true business value and get company buy-in.

Course overview

Stack the deck in your favor with proven tactics.

Most communities fail - to get investment, to get meaningful engagement, to stick around. In this hands-on, two-week course I'll teach you the skills that have helped my communities thrive:

- Cost-efficient testing & iteration

- Obsessing over the unique value members will receive

- Aligning programs with business goals and speaking the language of other teams

- Measuring actual program value, not vanity metrics

- Using tested, concrete tactics to retain and delight members

I've applied these to scale support and superuser programs at Reddit, cut through the noise to attract and close new customers at HubSpot, and host successful events across the globe.

During this course you'll:

- Get my entire playbook

- Develop your community strategy and pitch

- Hone your vision with your peers

- Get feedback directly from me

I'm ready to share everything I've learned the hard way, wrapped up in a bow just for you!

Who is this course for

01

Marketers who can see traditional channels shifting under them and want to learn how to use the unique advantage of community to stand out.

02

Community builders who are tired of lack of buy-in and investment from leadership.

03

Leaders who want to invest in community to scale their growth, retention, and customer engagement.

What you’ll get out of this course

Identify and pitch your community's business value

You’ll use the SPACES model and the 1-2-6 framework to identify the big wins you’ll deliver for your company and exactly how to measure them.

Apply best practices and research

Most communities fail, but you’ll build a community value model using the 5 V’s to create a vibrant oasis instead of a community ghost town.

Test your hypothesis without dumping piles of money into it

You'll apply testing methodologies to your community concepts so you can find your big win before you ask for a big budget.

Learn from the best

Review multiple examples from my career and the most successful community projects I've seen and learn the approaches they used.

Evan Hamilton

Director of Community, HubSpot

I've been building communities for over 15 years, at companies like Reddit, HubSpot, and UserVoice. I've run everything from scaled support communities to lead-gen communities for high-value buyers to retention and engagement for the tens of thousands of moderators on Reddit. In the process I've gotten to work directly with the c-suite, build large teams, and run multi-million dollar budgets.
