Course syllabus

Set up your design system workflow and Figma file(s)

Learn about different Figma workflows and determine which is best for you. Then set up your file(s) with styles and icons.

Introduction to components & responsive design

Build multiple responsive component sets to master the concepts of auto layout, components, variants, and properties.

Advanced components & responsive design

Build multiple complex component sets that are highly responsive, dynamic, and stateful. Giving you a deep understanding of how and when to use auto layout, components, variants, and properties.

Free build & team collaboration

Build multiple components of your choosing. Getting feedback from your peers and Molly on the best approach. Then learn how to start designing and collaborating with your system.

Course Schedule

4-6 hours per week
  • Weekly projects

    2 hours per week

    Build a full design system by completing a series of weekly hands-on projects. For example, "Create scalable color styles" and "Build a button component set using auto layout, variants, and properties"

  • Coworking labs

    Thursdays 8am Pacific Time

    Weekly 1hr workshop where you'll get a chance to meet and get feedback from your peers in breakout room sessions.

  • Office hours

    Fridays 8am Pacific Time

    Weekly 1hr live Zoom call with Molly to answer questions and dive deeper into that week's projects.

  • Self-paced lessons

    1 hour per week

    Video lessons and a library of resources to help you complete each project.
