A former Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, she spent over 15+ years leading DEI transformation within corporations, non-profits, government agencies and educational institutions. Trained in the social sciences and systems thinking, Cecilia understands the behaviors that drive a culture of inclusion.
In her current role as CEO of the Diversity Institute she coaches progressive DEI leaders on their own journey to creating equity for all.
In the Art & Science of DEI, Cecilia will share her hard-won strategies and techniques as well as tips and tools of the trade to make your DEI career journey a success.

Career Outlook in the DEI Industry
Leaders who understand equity are in high demand. In this cohort based learning opportunity we will explore the history of DEI in the workplace and its evolution as an industry. Through real world application, you will learn to identify the core DEI competencies that employers seek and create a plan that supports your career path.

DEI Approaches and Impact
Using the Global Diversity & Inclusion Benchmarks, we will understand different frameworks you can use to focus your DEI initiatives. Using case studies and a values alignment activity, you will learn to develop a DEI lens to discern where an organization is at on their journey.

Group Coaching
This cohort based learning opportunity is a chance for you to coach and be coached on your biggest DEI challenge. The focus will be on creating solutions through a process of self-discovery.

Race, Class, Gender & Intersectionality
In this session, you and your cohort will expand your DEI lens to understand race, class, gender and intersectionality. Using the recent US Census data you will deconstruct the practice of counting people. You will deepen your understanding of the role history plays in who gets counted and more importantly who counts.

Tools of the Trade
Every DEI practitioner needs tools to do the work at hand. In this session we will work collaboratively and design a digital DEI toolkit with best practice assessments, strategies and resources to set you up for success.

Preparing for the Future of DEI
This session is all about putting what you learned into practice in preparation to make systemic change within our world. On this day we will also celebrate your wins and get clear on your why.
In this program you will learn the essentials needed to make Gamechanging DEI impact.
