Dr. Stacy Greathouse

Dr. Stacy Greathouse

The earliest schools for teachers were called "normal colleges."

Though she excelled in every normal school iteration as a valedictorian, a Master's in 9 months from Carnegie Mellon University, and a doctorate in pedagogy, pirates, and children's literature through Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, it came with a price.

It took 3 decades as an instructional designer, faculty, teacher for ages 3-83, standardized test scorer, community education volunteer, academic accreditor, career counselor, and subject matter expert, to reach the bottom line: Normal teaching isn't good enough.

Now known as Dr. Pyrate, she is proudly neurodistinct and so are her methods. She makes the space and provides the resources where we all teach to learn.
