Gain the skills you need to make the leap to management

We'll start with the all-important basics that make effective communication easier before diving into the psychology of human behavior and communication. We'll cover frameworks of behavioral styles such as DISC, tips for effective synchronous &amp; asynchronous communication, and how to build strong foundational relationships with your team

Foundations of effective communication

We'll dive into the complicated part of communication as we tackle productive disagreement, how to give (and receive) effective feedback, and how to boost confidence in any &amp; all of your communication. We'll also discuss how to create personal "user manuals" to improve communication across your team.

Confidence, feedback and productive disagreement

We'll discuss the Power Interest Matrix and other frameworks of stakeholder management, as well as how to effectively engage with and align across different audiences and manage up, down and across. We'll also review real life scenarios that come up frequently for PMs who deal with their own cross-functional teams and many disparate stakeholders.

Engaging & aligning with stakeholders

Finally, we'll tackle the ever-important job of successfully getting buy-in from your team and stakeholders, especially around your product vision and strategy. We'll discuss frameworks for effective storytelling and how to "manage up" and effectively influence without authority.

We'll meet for two interactive 2-hour workshops – these will include a mix of teaching, group discussion and breakout sessions, so you can learn from Christina and from your peers.
