Course overview
The hardest part of writing your first book isn’t the writing.
It’s the unknown.
Let us make it easy for you! Join us for First Book Bootcamp and learn exactly what it's going to take to get your first book out into the world so all you have to do is sit down and write!
01
You know you’ve got a book in you. But you just can’t ever quite seem to get it out of your head in any kind of consistent, coherent way.
02
You wish you had somebody just tell you exactly what’s involved in every single step of writing and publishing your first book.
03
You know a book can do great things for your business ... but you’ve also seen people write books that gather dust, and you DON’T want that.
... you need to get your book out of your head and into the world. And we mean every.single.step. After today, all you have to do is sit down and write!
... that derail most people in this process. Think: positioning, ghostwriting vs co-writing, self-publishing vs traditional publishing vs hybrid, etc.
... about how to get big names like Seth Godin, Sonia Simone, and Paul Jarvis to review and blurb your first book, just like Heather did. We'll also cover the clever ways you can leverage your book to grow your authority capital so that people clamour to work with you.
... so you know you’re taking the right next steps for you and your business. No more worry about flailing around in the dark and wasting your time and energy on a plan that might not end up with you having a published book. No one needs a $10k business card, amiright?

Leah Kalamakis
Illana Burk
Heather has been an online business coach for over a decade helping countless small business owners from Hong Kong to Amsterdam to LA (and everywhere in between) streamline and grow their businesses. She's the author of the book No Plan B: A Handbook for Incurable Entrepreneurs and Other Rebellious Souls, and a big fan of reinventing the way we work to be more human-friendly.
Rachel Allen has run Bolt from the Blue Copywriting for 13+ years, and has ghostwritten, co-authored, and edited books for authors all over the world. (Including No Plan B!) Books she’s been involved with have topped international best-seller charts, showed up on airport bookshelves, and in one memorable case, led to someone getting an MBE. She loves helping aspiring thought-leaders get their best and biggest ideas out of their heads and into the world, where they can actually do some good.
01
Session One - All the Info
Our first session is all about giving you the detailed, no bullshit scoop about what it really takes to write + publish your first book. Things like: how to make sure your idea will actually work in a book, the team you need to get it done, costs + timelines, how to leverage your book as a business asset, pitfalls + how to avoid them, etc.
02
Break + Practice
We'll then break so you've got some time to (1) eat and (2) let all this info we've just thrown your way sink in. You'll also use this break time to mock up your own roadmap so we can review and refine it with you live in session two!
Both Rachel and Heather will be available via Voxer over the break for async help + any panic moments :)
03
Session Two - Live Feedback + Refining
We'll all come back together for a final session where you'll share your plan with the cohort (accountability and momentum for the win!) and get live feedback from both Heather and Rachel so you can walk away with something you know will really work. This session is also the perfect time to ask any lingering questions and tie up any loose ends.
10:00am - 4:00pm EST
Because learning works best with friends.
(And that’s not some kinda foofy feel-good thing, that’s cold, hard curriculum science.)
No more zoning out while being talked at.
No one likes sitting through long lectures. So we don't do that! Our approach is all about live, interactive workshops that help you learn faster and implement in real-time.
Learn with a cohort of people like you.
You’ll be learning in public through breakout rooms and an engaged community that want to grow alongside you.
Built-in accountability to get this done.
Serious face: most of Rachel’s clients wait an average of 7 YEARS before hiring someone to help them write their book. Do you really want to be working on this thing in 2029? No, no you do not. And the world definitely needs your ideas sooner than that. So join us and get the support and accountability you need to get that first book done!
